I'm in Connecticut! That would explain my lack of blogging presence, and like a true blogger, I get a little antsy when I haven't posted in a few days. I imagine whenever I don't post that I will return to my blog three days later and there will be ZERO followers. The only people left will be my Mom and my Sister, who reads my blog like once a month. My Mom reads it and then tells me how murderers will find me. So those will be my only readers and that will be sort of sad.
I want to shout - I'm here! I'm back! I've been in CT since Friday, when I flew in the world's biggest plane. I call it "MegaPlane" and it was a monster. It was a newer plane, and it was simply amazing. 9 seats across, three, three and three. The seats were plush and roomy. There were new tvs in the back of every seat. It was three times the length of a normal plane, and it's engine was about as big as one of the smaller planes parked next to it at the airport.
It was sort of awesome, and I HATE planes in general. That was the flight from Denver to Chicago. My flight from Chicago to CT was not as amazing. I had a Chicago Hot Dog, which prompted this amazing text conversation: "I had a Chicago Hot Dog." Cindy: "Wow. That's a bold choice for someone about to get on a plane." Me: "Well, I just had it plain." Cindy: "That was not a Chicago Hot Dog then." Me: "Well, I meant I'm IN Chicago, so it's a Chicago Hot Dog." Then there was only silence.
It's piled high with snow here. The snow is up to my eyeballs. Okay, that's an exaggeration. But the house I'm staying in has it pushed up aganist their house is huge waves, like a frozen tsunami. The snow is everywhere, everywhere, in mounds in parking lots that are higher than cars. Yesterday we were treated to freezing rain on top of the snow. I love it. Colorado hasn't gotten very much snow this year, and my winter feels sort of empty and barren and dry without it. I love the snow. I was ready for snow.
Until I fell down in a crosswalk. Snow yes, ice - not so much my favorite.
Kim (my friend who I am visiting), does not share this opinion. New England has had weird weather this year. Hurricanes, blizzards, tree breakage - I heard about it all last night as Kim's lovely boyfriend treated me to Thai food, which ended with a free fish eyeball dessert (comparable to rice pudding). I ate it, but I didn't really enjoy it, only because of how it looked. I have texture issues.
For being pretty much snow-bound, we've had a lovely trip so far. Lots of talking, and talking, and more talking. We've been out around her town, here and there, visiting restaurants and movie theaters and going to church. On Monday we went to the mall, and I dropped half of my vacation money in ONE DAY. It was bad news. On one hand, it was sort of great because vacation cash isn't like real money. On the other hand, I was sad that half of it was gone. No more shopping for me. My haul was amazing! There was a ton of clearance, because the mall was obviously closing out for the next season. I got three shirts (navy blue, a teal camisole and a gorgeous yellow tank top flowy thing for HAWAII!!!), a pair of earrings and two pairs of flats for spring. The shoes are SO cute, and they were all under 10 bucks.
It was ridiculous. This is always the problem when I visit here: I don't have enough room to get everything back. The last time I visited, I bought these fabulous boots that then wouldn't fit in my suitcase. And then THE MEANEST TSA GUY EVER confinscated these jams that I had bought for my sister and threw them in the trash all because I didn't have a ziplock bag to put them in. And now I'm confident that with all my new goodies I will be packed within an inch of my life when I board that (not awesome) plane back to Colorado in a few days. Such is life when I visit out here - bountiful amounts of love and friendship.
And shoes. And frozen yogurt.

I will never stop reading, so you can make that a party of 3 that will be left. Although I might not be your friend now that I know you found such great shoe deals and you DIDN'T GET ME ANY!??!??! I thought we were friends. Anyway, those look super cute and you owe us some Fashion Blogger pics when you get a chance. Also, nothing about snow up to my chin sounds fun to me. I think I'll stick with Georgia.
